BREAKING Free from BITCH: Becoming Liberated in a “Stay Woke,” Media Obsessed Culture

J.R. Baker-Flowers, documentarian and author of the book “BREAKING BITCH: Dismantling the LIES to Reclaim Your TRUTH,” will: a) address “the culture of bitch” highlighting the overwhelming media sources that exploit and capitalize off of the term “bitch,” b) illustrate contemporary patriarchal narratives of Black women in media, c) reveal how reappropriating slurs, like “bitch” maintains cultural norms of sexism and misogyny and d) conduct a mindfulness activity with participants to promote cultural/self-awareness, sustainable self-empowerment and lasting freedom through affirmative language techniques
